Our very first house was an 1100 sqft, 1942 cottage on a 7000 sqft lot. It was a classic little fixer-upper with faux wood beams crafted from wood paneling and an exceptional view over Esquimalt-Gorge Park’s bird sanctuary. It was the first time we owned a property and my first venture into the freedoms and responsibilities that come with owning my own land. In the 4 years we lived there I taught myself many skills in woodworking, landscaping and designing through the projects that this little cottage inspired in me.
