Greenhouse & Aquaponics
I’ve always wanted my own greenhouse and was very envious of a close friend who had made one entirely out of reclaimed wood-framed windows he had sourced. Luckily he had more than he needed and allowed me to have some of the extras.
construction
I don’t think any of the windows were the same size so it took quite a while of drawing them and redrawing them out in my sketchbook to make them fit. Once they did I constructed the frame and screwed the frames directly on. The painting and scraping took a very long time but was well worth the way it brought all the old janky pieces together into one cohesive structure.
Aquaponics
As soon as I heard about aquaponics I started building a couple of units on the pond. I took a course at Mason Street Farms on how to establish an aquaponics system, and after that I scrapped the two I had built and started on the more successful setup. I also experimented with some vertical towers that I was very pleased with until the flow of water kept altering as the plants grew.
Fibonacci Succulent wall
My first attempt at a vertical garden inspired by the Fibonacci spiral which was also my first tattoo. Like many first attempts at vertical gardening it looked its best right after planting and slowly started to become dry and patchy due to some poor choices in soil quality.
